-Cancelled- Round Lake Taupo & Waikato River Ride
Two days on the water around the Taupo region, exploring some hidden gems
Simply turn up on the day to come along, Passengers welcome!
DAY 1 – Saturday 26th October – Ride around Lake Taupo
A ride circumnavigating Lake Taupo.
- You must bring a 20L container full of fuel for your PWC
- Helmets are compulsory for this ride
Meet at the Two Mile Bay boat ramp (Click here for a map) from 8:00am to fill out registration pay entry fees ($50 per ski & rider $20 per passenger) Payments must be made online into the club bank account.
You will need to have your fuel container with 20 litres of fuel at the ramp by 9:00am so the crew can get this on the road before the ride commences.
Bring an EFTPOS card and cash for refuelling at Kinloch (if required – has not been needed in the past) (Cash in case EFTPOS is down).
Please ensure you have warm gear, ie; wetsuit, gloves and booties. All riders and passengers must be wearing helmets.
There will be a short briefing about the ride once registrations are complete.
The group will leave at approx. 10:00am heading south with some sightseeing stops along the way, with our lunch stop in Kuratau where we will have a BBQ going and your extra fuel to top up with.
After lunch we will then continue on around the west side of the lake with further areas of interest and then return to the boat ramp.

A ramp permit is required to use the launch ramp, these are available to purchase at local gas stations or can be purchased online here –

Your vessel must be registered to be used on Lake Taupo,
If you already have registration for another area of NZ you are fine using your current registration.

Day 2 – Sunday 27th October – Waikato River ride
A ride up the Waikato river to see some geothermal hot pool spots and other sights.
Meet at Lake Ohakuri boat ramp (Click here for a map) at 8:00am to fill out registration pay entry fees ($30 per ski including passengers) Payments must be made online into the club bank account.
Please ensure you have suitable gear for the weather conditions on the day, helmets are not compulsory for this ride.
There will be a short briefing about the ride once registrations are complete.
The group will leave at approx. 10:00am heading up the river and stopping at various places along the way.
