DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\nUnfortunately we have had to cancel the Lake Taupo & Waikato river rides running this weekend.\n\n\n\nWe were unaware of changes that require applying to the Tuwharetoa Māori Trust to use the lake and have been informed by them and the harbour master this morning that these rides cannot go ahead.\n\n\n\nWe apologise for the late notice and disappointing outcome. We’ve never had an issue over the previous years of running this event so this development has been a surprise to the club too.\n\n\n\nWe hope you all enjoy your long weekend and are still able to get out on the water.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nTwo days on the water around the Taupo region, exploring some hidden gems\nSimply turn up on the day to come along, Passengers welcome!\n \nDAY 1 – Saturday 26th October – Ride around Lake Taupo\nA ride circumnavigating Lake Taupo.\n\nYou must bring a 20L container full of fuel for your PWC\nHelmets are compulsory for this ride\n\n\n \nMeet at the Two Mile Bay boat ramp (Click here for a map) from 8:00am to fill out registration pay entry fees ($50 per ski & rider $20 per passenger) Payments must be made online into the club bank account.\nYou will need to have your fuel container with 20 litres of fuel at the ramp by 9:00am so the crew can get this on the road before the ride commences.\nBring an EFTPOS card and cash for refuelling at Kinloch (if required – has not been needed in the past) (Cash in case EFTPOS is down).\nPlease ensure you have warm gear, ie; wetsuit, gloves and booties. All riders and passengers must be wearing helmets.\nThere will be a short briefing about the ride once registrations are complete.\nThe group will leave at approx. 10:00am heading south with some sightseeing stops along the way, with our lunch stop in Kuratau where we will have a BBQ going and your extra fuel to top up with.\nAfter lunch we will then continue on around the west side of the lake with further areas of interest and then return to the boat ramp.\nPlease note:\nA ramp permit is required to use the launch ramp, these are available to purchase at local gas stations or can be purchased online here – \nhttps://ramp-permit-taupo.dia.govt.nz/ ( https://ramp-permit-taupo.dia.govt.nz/ )\nYour vessel must be registered to be used on Lake Taupo,\nIf you already have registration for another area of NZ you are fine using your current registration.\n\nA registration form is available here – \nhttp://www.waikatoregion.govt.nz/jetskis ( http://www.waikatoregion.govt.nz/jetskis )\nDay 2 – Sunday 27th October – Waikato River ride\nA ride up the Waikato river to see some geothermal hot pool spots and other sights.\nMeet at Lake Ohakuri boat ramp (Click here for a map) at 8:00am to fill out registration pay entry fees ($30 per ski including passengers) Payments must be made online into the club bank account.\nPlease ensure you have suitable gear for the weather conditions on the day, helmets are not compulsory for this ride.\nThere will be a short briefing about the ride once registrations are complete.\nThe group will leave at approx. 10:00am heading up the river and stopping at various places along the way.\n
